What does this imprint mean?

The imprint "IMDUR 120" is a code stamped or printed on the tablet or capsule by the manufacturer, used to identify the drug, its strength and the maker.

Active ingredient

Isosorbide Mononitrate

Uses and warnings

Contraindicated in patients "who are allergic to it," and the label states "do not use isosorbide mononitrate in patients who are taking certain drugs for erectile dysfunction (phosphodiesterase inhibitors), such as sildenafil, tadalafil, or vardenafil," as well as in patients taking "the soluble guanylate cyclase stimulator riociguat," because of the risk of severe, life-threatening hypotension from combined nitrate/PDE-5-inhibitor use. The label also warns that "severe hypotension, particularly with upright posture, may occur with even small doses," and that tolerance to the drug's effects can develop with continuous use.

"Indicated for the prevention and treatment of angina pectoris due to coronary artery disease." The label specifically cautions that "the onset of action of oral isosorbide mononitrate is not sufficiently rapid for this product to be useful in aborting an acute anginal episode," so it is intended for prophylactic, not acute, use.
